How do I speed up my website?

  »My Projects

Google Lighthouse

Step 1. Select a better server

Because this website is designed as a multilingual blog, the visitors may come from most of the countries. However, because of the bandwidth limit between Chinese mainland and the other countries, the connection speed of Chinese visitors is pretty laggy. Fortunately, it is a nice solution to place the server in Hong Kong. I finally decide to buy Google's Hong Kong cloud server.

Step 2. Compress your CSS, JS, Font files and other resources

Jake's website is developed with Joomla! CMS and T3 framework. It is not that hard to implement these features from the back-end. It is also a nice idea to combine your CSS and JS files, which can reduce the number of requests.

Insert highlighted code with CSS and JS on your website

It is a reasonable solution to use the embedded editor of Joomla! to highlight any code on an article. With simply one click on Joomla's TinyMCE Editor, it allows you to insert any highlighted code from any programing languages into a Joomla! Article.

Here goes some sample Python codes,

Code 1

print("hello world!")

Code 2

import love from me

love1 = love.joomla()
for i in range(5):
    print("No. " + str(i) + str(love1))

Code 3

# This is a comment
i = 100
while True:
    i -= 1
    if i < 50:

# This is the end of the code
